Making an Appointment

To make an appointment telephone Motherwell 264164

To ensure that you see the appropriate health professional, the receptionist may require to ask some simple questions about your requirements. Please remember that all details are confidential. Every effort will be made to direct you to the appropriate service within 48 hours. Urgent cases will be seen the same day

If you request a “same day” appointment you may be directed to our triage service, where a nurse trained in “triage” will assess your condition and either deal with it herself or refer you to the consulting doctor as an “emergency”. This ensures that as many patients as possible are given quick access to the service.

Telephone Appointments -This is useful if you only wish advice , medication review or discussion of results. The receptionist will offer you a time when the Doctor, Advanced Nurse Practitioner or Nurse will call you back.

Home Visits

Please note that Home Visits will be made only to those patients unable, because of illness, to attend the surgery. Patients are expected to make their own arrangements to attend and lack of transport or social difficulties do not constitute a reason for a doctor to visit at home.

If at all possible, please request home visits before 9:30am as this helps the doctors to organise their work load for the day. Calls will generally be made after morning surgery and over lunch time, depending on the urgency of the call.

Extended Hours Appointments

Extended Opening Hours- GP appointments are offered to registered patients who find difficulty in attending the Practice at any time during normal opening times. These surgeries take place from 6:00pm on alternate Wednesday and Thursdays. These appointments are accessed in the usual way.
